Lancre Morris Men

The team have won the Fifteen Mountains All-Comers Morris Championship six times, with Carter playing the accordion. They dance the traditional dances of the area such as 'Mrs Widgery's Lodger' and were known to branch out in a different style of dance only once. This was to perform the infamous 'Stick and Bucket Dance'. A dance originally developed at the Assassin's Guild in Ankh-Morpork and only truly performed well by their equally infamous Ninja Morris Team.
Although we do not hear about many of their experiences, probably because of the amount of time they spend practicing, their infrequent appearances always seem to coincide with a major break in the plot. As Morris Men, they have a passion for beer and a particularly strong concoction called Scumble that tastes of apples... well... mostly apples. It is distilled by Jason's mother somewhere in the woods and has to be kept in well corked bottles because of it's affinity for metallic objects. It is also rumoured to be the universal cure-all for many country ailments and despite claims by many folk who have described their first taste, it is not, in fact fatal. The Lancre Morris Men were called upon to perform 'drama' at the wedding of Miss Magrat Garlick (witch) and Verence II (king of Lancre). This is an experience they do not discuss although one or two of the members did look forward to finding somewhere quiet to practice. Especially after hearing rumours of quiet places where young witches danced 'without their drawers'. It appears they were not successful in this venture due to the warnings issued by Jason's mother.' |

The Lancre Morris Men consists of eight residents from the Village of Lancre. The acknowledged leader is Jason Ogg, backsmith and eldest son of Nanny Ogg the local witch. True to traditions and keeping well within the bounds of strangeness often associated with Morris Men, the remainder of the team consist of the following people:- Bestiality Carter the baker, Baker the weaver, Weaver the thatcher, Thatcher the carter, Obidiah Carpenter the tailor and part-time poacher, Tailor the (other) weaver and Tinker the tinker. Now if you've got that we can move on.
