Lesser Barbarians and Heroes

The Discworld is littered with many Heroes and Barbarians the most famous of which being, Cohen, a long-lived legend who is dealt with in his own section. His Horde consists of other equally famous but lesser known characters.

For a while, Cohen was Emperor of the Agatean Empire. At that time his Silver Horde comprised the following members:-

Boy Willie - a small shrivelled man who wears very thicked soled boots. It's a medical condition and he needs two orthopaedic boots because 'both his legs are shorter than the other.' He is believed to be the youngest (under 80) of the group.

Mad Hamish - a wizened old man with severe hearing problems and tend s to back them up with concealed axes. These are kept under the blanket of his wheelchair, without which he would not be very mobile. The blades attached to the axles tend to clear a way through crowds.

Truckle the Uncivil - Gets around with the use of two walking sticks which have 'LOVE' and 'HATE' written on them. He was considered to be a 'bad ass' but was apparently cured by careful use of a herbal suppository. The man is an habitual swearer and was probably one of the biggest challenges for another member of the Silver Horde who was kjnopwn as 'Teach'.

Ronald Saveloy (known as Teach) - A retired teacher who looked on the barbarian lifestyle as a safer career than teaching teenagers. He was a tall, elderly, stick-like man with a balding head and a fringe of white hair. He died during the Silver Horde's invasion of the Agatean Empire and was thought to have been taken to the barbarian's heaven of Valhalla by a Valkyrie.

Caleb the Ripper - was another youngster in the Silver Horde at a mere 85. He was a renowned warrior in his time and is reputed to have killed several hundred men with his bare hands. His preferred weapon was simply a pice of hardwood although he could use swords and other weapons.

Old Vincent - was the least known of the group and it is believed he died peacefully without any surrounding battle taking place.

The Other Heroes of Discworld...

Evil Lord Harry - Otherwise known as Harry Dread, a Dark Lord. His deeds did not allow him to finance really big campaigns so he spent a lot of time 'resting between jobs' as it were. He was, however, very careful to employ really stupid sidekicks.

Vena the Raven Haired - Now known as Mrs McGarry. A grandmotherly type of person who returned to the hero-ing after her husband had died and two children had grown up and married. She becomes the owner of a scroll which eventually directs her to Dunmanifestin where she meets the Silver Horde. Although she carries an over-sized sword, she is more deadly with the two kniotting needles she has about her person at all times.
